I think this David Lynch clip is freakin’ hilarious. He’s a genious. I mentioned in a previous post that I work in publishing but I should be more specific. I work in marketing for a publisher so I find the divide between commercialism and art can sometimes be conflicting but Lynch nailed it.

When I was a kid, my family used to go for long drives to spend holidays with my relatives. I didn’t have a walkman then so I basically counted the divider lines on the highway. I didn’t get too far because I get car sick. I really can’t look down at all. I think of this every time I watch Lynch and his trademark closeup of highway lines at night.

Other Lynch-related stuff:
  • There’s a new book out with sketches, illustration and his photography. It’s $75 bux, but well worth it. It even comes out with a CD.
  • Mike Leavitt's awesome figure of Lynch (below).
  • Day 19’s Polaroid Project has an incredible shot of Lynch. I picked up their photozine and his shot is in there.
  • If you didn’t know, Twin Peaks Season 2 has been out-of-print for a long time and it was finally released on DVD this year.

David Lynch's pieces are just as creepy as his films
